A Lodge Built on Joy, Rooted in Family
GIOIA (pronounced joy-uh) means joy in Italian — a word that perfectly captures the heart of this home. What began as a retreat for our family has become a sanctuary for guests looking to rest, reconnect, and soak in the peace of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every space was designed to make you feel at ease — from the cozy living room with its crackling fireplace to the wraparound porch that offers breathtaking views year-round.
When our father discovered the home mid-construction, he saw its potential and brought it to life with love and intention. Though he's no longer with us, his vision lives on in every detail. Today, Gioia Lodge is still family-run — a place where joy is shared, stories are made, and each stay becomes part of the home’s legacy. We’re honored to share it with guests who value connection, calm, and a little mountain magic.
Hospitality, Handled with Heart
Today, Gioia Lodge is run by Manuel’s children, with Nora leading guest hospitality. Together, we care for this home as a legacy — a place we’re honored to share with others.
What began as our father’s vision has grown into something bigger than we imagined — a home where joy, peace, and presence live in every detail.
Whether you’re here to celebrate, unwind, or reconnect, we hope this space becomes part of your story too.
